Talk Title: IP components in technology development

Brief bio:

Dr. Shailaja Patil is currently working as Professor in Department of Electronics & Telecommunication, and handling the portfolio of Dean (R&D) at Rajarshi Shahu College  of Engineering, Pune, India. She has 25 years of teaching and 3 years of research  experience. She has completed PhD from SVNIT with research focus on “Statistical  Techniques in Localization and Tracking using Wireless Sensor Network”. Her PhD  candidates are pursuing research in IOT, 5G networks, and Image Processing. She has  more than 80 publications in peer reviewed journals/ conferences. She has delivered expert  talks on WSN,IoT, SDN, Research Methodology and IPR at various workshops, and  presented tutorial on SDN at IEEE international conference, Lisbon, Portugal. She has  authored various book chapters and books. She has received research fund from SPPU,  AICTE and DST for Research in WSN and IoT. She is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers  and Senior member IEEE. She is currently Chair of IEEE WiE AG, Pune section. She also  holds a PG Diploma in “Intellectual Property Rights” from Nalsar Law University where  she has been trained on dealing with different aspects of IPR. She is a registered patent  agent. She guides students and faculty members in filing and prosecution of IPR. She has  two granted patents to her credit, and 8 filed patents and two copyrights. Recently she has  been honored by AICTE with “VISVESARAYA BEST TEACHER AWARD 2020” and by IEEE Pune section with “BEST RESEARCHER/ INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR  AWARD 2020”.

Dr. Manjira Sinha

Talk Title:  Role of AI, ML in Developing Intelligent Prosthetics

Brief bio:

Manjira Sinha is Assistant Professor at the Center for Education Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. Prior to that she was an Associate Principal Researcher for Artificial Intelligence at Accenture AI Labs and Research Scientist Conduent Labs India. Manjira has also been visiting faculty in Indian Institute of Information Technology Kalyani. She co-chairs the track on AI in Grace Hopper Celebration India, and is also actively engaged in different efforts towards achieving gender equity in STEM. Her areas of interest include Language Comprehension, Big Data, Assistive Technology, Human Computer Interaction, Economics of Education, and impact of Technology on Society. Currently she is working on NLP for Assistive Technology, AI in Education and Healthcare.
